Member Notice

SMS Phishing Scam

We've been made aware of a scam text, purporting to be from 'Credit Union', claiming that accounts have been 'placed on hold' and asking the recipient to click a link (to a cloned credit union website) to verify their account. Your credit union will never contact you by text or email asking you to click a link to verify your account

About Us

The first formal meeting of Thurles Credit Union was held on 24th November 1961.The first chairman was Fr James Meehan, Micheael O'Cearbhaill the first secretary, Timmy McDonnell the first treasurer.

From humble beginnings, the credit union has established itself over the years as an Institution of Thurles and the surrounding area. The Urlingford office was established in 1986 and the Killenaule office in 1993.

Who We Are

Thurles Credit Union is located at Credit Union House, Parnell Street, Thurles. For members who live in the Killenaule and Urlingford areas, there are offices located in both of these towns.

Thurles Credit Union is owned and controlled by its members and there are now over 20,000. The assets of the Thurles Credit Union exceed €100 million.

Thurles Credit Union provides a wide range of services to its members, which are constantly under review to seek improvements. The extended offices in Parnell Street, Thurles provide a high degree of comfort and a state of the art service is provided to the members.

The Killenaule and Urlingford offices are on-line to Thurles, thus giving the same standard of service to all members.
